CONVULSE x Asakusa Deathfest 2018

CONVULSE is the one of legendary Finnish Old-School Death Metal bands.
In 1991, they made blueprint old-school Death Metal album "World Without God" from Thrash Records who released many masterpiece records.
After three years, band changed their style to more Alternative rock-like emotional melodies then, released second album "Reflections" from Releapse/Nuclear Blast Records in 1994.
This album led CONVULSE mixed several essence of music genres which made band's another improvement but split up after 2nd album.
In 2012, they made their reunion and released 3rd album "Evil Prevails" then 2016's 4th album "Cycle of Revenge".
Band once again shows its resurrection with improved professional playing and classical Death Metal songs.
And, finally... legendary Finnish Death Metal "CONVULSE" confirmed as headliner at ASAKUSA DEATHFEST 2018 !!

フィンランドデスメタルレジェンドバンドの1つ、CONVULSE。
1991年にオールドスクールデスメタルの教科書ともいえる "World Without God"をVITAL REMAINS, SENTENCED, EXIT 13など数々の名盤をリリースした名門、Thrash Recordsから発表。
その後、バンドはサウンドスタイルをチェンジしヘヴィロックさ、エモーショルなメロディを取り入れたセカンドアルバム "Reflections"を1994年にRelapse / Nuclear Blastからリリース。
他ジャンルからの影響を取り入れた音楽性豊かな楽曲に新たなデスメタルの可能性を感じる素晴らしい作品だったがバンドは解散。
しかし伝説は蘇る。
2012年に再結成しセカンドから19年ぶりとなるサードアルバムを、2016年には4thアルバム、"Cycle of Revenge"を発表。ベテランらしい安定した演奏力と楽曲、貫禄あるステージングで完全復活を遂げる。
そのフィンランドデスメタル伝説、CONVULSEが浅草デスフェスト2018のヘッドライナーとして登場!! 日本全国のデスメタルヘッズが浅草に集結する時が来た！

FUNERAL MOTH x Asakusa Deathfest 2018

Tokyo based Doom Metal band FUNERAL MOTH was formed in 2005.
They started as a 3 piece doom band and released their first demo in 2006 and EP in 2008. In early days, their musical style was extremely slow and heavy straightforward crushing Doom Metal in hell.
In 2012, they added new additional guitar player to enrich their doomed harmonies into deep abyssal sea and finally released their monolithtic funeral doom metal 1st album "dense fog" in 2014. "dense fog" showed their music drowned into more atmospheric and bleak one in shadows of the sun.
In 2015, their original bass/vocal Nobuyuki Sentou was replaced with new member Ryo Amamiya.
With this lineup, they released 2nd album "transience" in 2016, which have more progressive and alternative style through their music then received critical acclaim from many magazines/webzines like Decibel, Metal Injection and so on.
And until the last sunset, their everlasting voyage for doomed nirvana will continue...
They will stop beriefly at the harbor of Asakusa Deathfest 2018 and those who come there shall be doomed!!!

2005年に結成した国産ドゥームメタル、FUNERAL MOTH。
初期は遅さと重さを極限まで極めた地獄を圧殺するドゥームメタルだったがより音楽性を広大な海の深淵まで沈めた1stアルバム “dense fog”をリリース。
そしてサウンドはより静寂かつ激情的な雰囲気を高め、沈みゆく陽影を染み付かせるものへと深化し斬新な展開を魅せ2016年に2ndアルバム “transience”をリリース。
彼等はその航海の途中でAsakusa Deathfest 2018という港に一時停泊し、そこに訪れた者達を破滅と奈落の奥底へと突き落とす。
最後の日没まで、彼等の破滅の涅槃を求める終わり無き航海は続いて行く...

In 2015, band formed with averagely 20 years old young guys then playing extremely technical and brutal Death Metal. Here it is SHINDA SAIBO NO KATAMARI !

Currently they are 3-piece then, released single CD from Obliteration Records which lead them high expected fresh and young Death Metal band.

In Autumn, they toured through Indonesia included Bogor Brutal Fest and successfully killed those shows.

2015年結成当時、メンバーの平均年齢は二十歳という若さでテクニカルかつブルータルなデスメタルをプレイするのが「死んだ細胞の塊」だ！

現在はベースレスの3人で活動。シングルCDをObliteration Recordsからリリースし期待の若手デスメタルバンドとして注目される。8月にはBogor Brutal Festを含む3カ所でのインドネシアツアーを敢行し大成功をおさめる。

GATE x Asakusa Deathfest 2018

Formed in 1999 as a 3-piece Grindcore band, GATE unleashed emotionless and relentless blastbeats with cold hateful vomited vocals over razor sharp riffage.

With a lineup change in 2015, Murata from Cyber-Grindcore band DEATHCOUNT and Ishiguro who plays in many extreme metal bands both joined the GATE.

This lead to GATE's brutality becoming even more merciless than before.

Get ready for some mind melting Grind, because they have been confirmed to play at ASAKUSA DEATHFEST 2018!

1999年の結成からメロディや感情的なものを排除し残虐で冷たいリフと情け容赦ないブラストビートによるグラインドコアを追求してきた殺人マシーンがGATEだ。

2015年からはデジタルグラインドコアバンド、DEATHCOUNTの村田がボーカルに、ドラムには数々のバンドでの活動経験があるベテラン、石黒が加入しこれまで以上にブルータルで無慈悲なグラインドコアをプレイ！

GORE INFAMOUS x Asaskusa Deathfest 2018

South Asian Brutal Death Metal act Gore Infamous formed in Indonesia in 2010 where old-school brutalizers JASAD also hail from.

At the time, bassist Freddy used to play with his younger brother Reduan as Demigod, but they split up due to personal reasons.

Freddy left Demigod and moved to Gore Infamous. Wawan, the former bassist switched to drums and the current lineup was set.

They've got similar ideas with a very complex sound that is characterized by Indonesian blast-beats influenced by Bloody Gore and Dirty Infamous.

Gore Infamous features grotesque visuals, complete with masks, and a brutal sound that reminds the listener of The Berzerker and Ghoul who popularized similar imagery worldwide.

The band has played at many large festivals and also appeared on the lineup of HELLPRINT UNITED DAY , which is the most famous Indonesian Metal festival.

Finally, Gore Infamous will bring their brutality and grotesquerie to Japan because they have been confirmed to play at ASAKUSA DEATHFEST 2018!!

Jasadのお膝元インドネシアのバンドンで2010年に結成。当時(現Gore Infamousベーシスト) Freddyは実の弟ReduanとDemigodを結成していたが、各メンバーの諸事情によりDemigodを離脱。
兄のFreddyはそのままGore Infamousへ、弟ReduanはJasadへ加入し現在に至る。また、同時に当時Gore Infamousでベーシストを務めていたWawanがドラムの位置に就き現在のパートは固定されている。
バンド名の由来の一部となったインドネシアンデスメタルの重鎮Bloddy Goreに言わずもがな激しい影響を受け、初見では解析不能な程の複雑で変則的なリフ、音の数、そしてインドネシア特有の高速ブラストビートを有し、グロテスクな覆面に身を包んだヴィジュアルと残虐なサウンドでJasadと同じくデスメタル大国インドネシア全土はもちろん海外のデスメタルヘッズからも絶大な人気を博す存在となっている。
数々のビッグフェスに出演し、ついに昨年インドネシアで最も有名なメタルフェスHELLPRINT UNITED DAYに出演を果たす。
そして満を持してついにASAKUSA DEATHFEST 2018に出演決定！

NECROPHILE x Asakusa Deathfest 2018

Tokyo based old school Death Metal veterans NECROPHILE originally formed in 1987.

Though they split up in 1991, the original members reunited in 2012 and have been active since.

The trio blasts classic Death Metal riffage blended with fast paced thrash, bearing influence from Repulsion and Kreator.

NECROPHILE released split with Singapore's Abhorer and contributed tracks to compilations.

Finally, they released their highly anticipated first full length, "Awakening Those Oppressed" in 2017.

These guys are a must see for Death Metal fans so don't miss their gruesome performance at ASAKUSA DEATHFEST 2018!

東京を拠点とした3ピースのオールドスクールデスメタルバンド、NECROPHILEは1987年に結成される。1991年に一度解散はしたものの2012年にオリジナルメンバーによる奇跡の復活を遂げ現在も精力的に活動中。

NECROPHILEはクラシックなデスメタルサウンドそしてファストなスラッシュっぷりはRepulsionやKreatorからの影響もあるだろう。彼らはスプリット音源をシンガポールの伝説的なデスブラック、Abhorerと出したりコンピレーションもリリースしていたが去年2017に遂にフルアルバムを世に放つ。

ギターのTakashi氏はドラムにてANATOMIAそしてUNDERGANGのメンバーと共にWORMRIDDENにおいて活動もしている。

ABIGAIL x Asakusa Deathfest 2018

The legendary Black Metal/Thrash band ABIGAIL was formed in 1992 by Yasuyuki and Youhei.

Though their initial sound had a lot of influence from Venom, Bathory, and Bulldozer, they later added Jero who contributed more and more melodic guitar solos.

Their intense delivery of speedy Black Metal with Rock'n'Roll attitude culminate into catchy melodies have moved crowds to mosh pits and sing-a-longs the world over.

Currently, they are one of the most popular Japanese bands in the global extreme underground scene.

日本のデスメタルバンド、INTESTINE BAALISMは1992から活動を開始しオリジナルギター・Kakuzaki氏を除くメンバーチェンジを経て3枚の力強いアルバムをリリース。
バンドサウンドはオールドスクールデスメタルをベースにしDismemberやEdge of Sanityといったスウェディッシュデスメタルの影響を力強く受けたものとなっている。
ボーカルは奈落の底から獣が這い出し吼える様な残忍な吐き出しスタイル、そしてギターはゴリゴリでキレキレなデスラッシュの斬撃共に心臓を握り潰すかの如く強烈で美麗なメロディを繰り出す。

Formed in Ukraine in 2004 and slumbered through more than 10 years hiatus, Medical Death Grind act CRASH SYNDROM is reunited in Japan in 2016 with new line-up, shortly releasing a full-length album via Obliteration Records in January 2018, delivering gory pathological grind with echoes of good old CARCASS, DEAD INFECTION and GENERAL SURGERY.
Through decades, goregrind genre shifted to, probably, peaks of its extremity, opening new vast horizons.However, CRASH SYNDROM proves that old school rotten metal is still a thing today, bringing listener through catchy riffs and high/low vocals combinations to the world of shiny dissection tools and stiffed patients.
