Reputdeath was formed in late 2009, initially recording a promotional rehearsal tape that was
distributed to a small circle of close friends. From the outset, the band embraced a raw old-school
death/doom metal sound, characterized by a crushing Boss HM-2 guitar tone, slower and heavier
tempos, and bleak, suffocating atmospheres. Their music blends primitive death metal aggression with
the somber weight and dragging pace of doom.
The original lineup featured Sam (vocals), Fastgore (drums), Mika Rotten (guitar), and Red (bass).
Lyrically, Reputdeath explores themes of horror, death, loneliness, and the fragility of human existence,
drawing strong inspiration from classic gore and horror films.
Musically, the band cites influences such as Autopsy, Anatomia, and Impetigo, particularly their darker,
doom-laden material. While rooted firmly in the traditions of old-school death metal, Reputdeath
developed its own identity by emphasizing slower riff structures, deliberate song pacing, and a grim,
oppressive mood. Their early demos, promos, and rehearsal recordings served as a tribute to the
underground demo and death/doom metal scene of the 1990s.
Over the years, Reputdeath has undergone several lineup changes. The current lineup consists of T.J.
Andez (guitar), Fastgore (drums), and Mika Rotten (bass/vocals), who continue to uphold the band’s
commitment to raw, uncompromising old-school death/doom metal.
